A ray of light, A glimmer of hope
April 10, 2006After weeks of painstaking work on the system documentation and application for our OrdDB subject, we have finally managed to create a working program. working pa lang, not a working, error/bug free program.
We then consulted Mr. John Q. Ruero, (yes sir, I stand corrected
) last night for initial testing and comments. There were a lot of errors and lapses specifically on error-trapping of entry fields and referential integrity of related databases. A few design glitches were also discovered, but all can be solved, in time…and time is one thing that we don’t have.
In enforcing referential integrity, two solutions come to mind: Upgrade mySQL to a higher version 5.x.x and use InnoDB engine or implement an application-side referential integrity enforcer. The latter seems to be the feasible solution since the former might bring up more problems than it can solve. Lastly, a learning curve is the last thing that I need.
After checking the system, Mr. Ruero commented that if all errors are fixed, and referential integrity is enforced…
papalusotin ko kayo…
Wow, and I thought ‘I love you’ and ‘room thirty, now’ was the sweetest 3 little words that one can hear…
I can’t help but imagine hellweek X 1068 might just end in a few days…and my summer will come. Woooot! Before I forget I just want to say Thank You Mr. Ruero for pushing us past our limits. I might be too busy screaming in pain and anguish during the tortu…err…defense to say it.
